someone didn't get the equipment mounting & clearance memos

typical pop-rox installer crapsmanship

i'm absolutely sure the ink has dried on green tag...it'll never have problems, crack or leak

nothing will be done...just add it to the list of the ever increasing stockpile of disposable housing

my new mantra
i write they decide

call yesterday
well they fixed the clogged main drain on the $850k 4.5ksqft new shaq...should we close?
dug out the original from street tap to a huge hole back under the slab & replaced all the pipes
all should be good, right?

re: how did the re-compact the soil under the slab and drain line?
we've had weeks of rain...expansive clay is saturated...wait til it starts drying & shrinking...then what do you think will be support the foundation & pipes
get it in writing that all is well and approved by the SE of record & extended life time warranty is issued

or please don't call me when problems occur

I hear ya BA.

Can't believe these "cost-um" builders continue to get away with this crap.

This same one couldn't even get the walls half way straight...

Response from the builder...  Lips Sealed

Very common practice, I cannot remember a job where the stone guy has not run his stone to our equipment to give the wall a nice finished look. Our equipment is 3r rated (outdoor rated) so it is designed to be in the elements. IBI passed the service inspection and the final inspection therefore the agency having jurisdiction over this project is ok with it. I see this finished look in every jurisdiction in the tristate area and I have never had an inspector take issue with it.

And another...

This is not a wood window which means
this is not an issue.  The normal prep
work that goes on before caulking requires
removal of the grout, if necessary, and
caulk applied.

And another

Masonry in contact with wood door frame
If these ever become an issue, JDH’s warranty will take care of this.  This is a very common issue and the caulking that will go between the door and brick will resolve any moisture issues.

My private thoughts... and when your company is bankrupt and no longer in operation, how will your warranty address this?

It's like a game of liar's dice...   Sad

Quote
Exposed nails at the end of a cap run and at the bottom edge of roof vent are common practice .JDH will investigate the exposed nail in the valley line seen in picture 19-3 and 19-4 and make needed repair

Quote
Downspouts terminating on a lower roof is a common practice. Downspout extension could be added at owners request Note: if extension are added there no way to secure them to the roof properly and they are likely to blow off possibly pulling off the spout in which it connected to. creating damage to surrounding surfaces

Quote
{contractor} has contacted the Hardi rep and JDH to set up a meeting with the {client} to address these issues.

when the muni's sole interest is tax collection & the muni codies paid from taxes get the land onto the higher improved property bracket it's no wonder the housing of today will be in degradation long before the mortgage is paid

what's worse is i tell clients this day in & day out & they do as told by the corp lackeys
lost a builder final w/ir gig this weekend, builder denied access prior to closing later this afternoon
why would he do that when the pre-drywall only had 89 individual aggregated items
